Webmaster's Comments: This was an outstanding ride and should be considered annual event status for the chapter around this time of year. U.S. 90 west of I-75 is a good road and the timing of the ride couldn't have been better. Azaleas, dogwoods, and a variety of other spring bloomers made the ride even better. And of course the sausage at Bradley's Country Store was a great finish. — DrD
Date: March 22, 2008
Destination: Shands Hospital, Wolfson Children's Hospital, Brooks Rehabilitation Center
Miles: Varied, but approximately 20
Road Captain: Shands-Chris Kiernan; Wolfson-John Colgrove; Brooks-Steve Coleman

# of bikes: Shands 23; Wolfson 10; Brooks 15(?)
Weather report: Overcast-low 60s
Road Captain's Comments: This was the chapter's annual trip to visit children hospitalized during Easter and deliver well wishes and, of course, goodies. This year the goodies were in Bunny book bags instead of baskets and the kids seemed to enjoy them. One lucky (given the circumstance of being in the hospital) 10-year old boy at Shands was treated to a ride on Parker Pearman's 105th Anniversary edition Ultra Classic. He was grinning from ear to ear. So was the little boy.

Miles: 110
Road Captain: Russ (U-Turn) Prothero
Tail Gunner: Fernando (Mmmm hamburger) Villarruel
# of bikes: 16
Weather report: Sunny, very little wind. The ocean was calm when we rode by it.
Road Captain's Comments: It was a great ride, would have been even better had I not missed a turn requiring us to do a “U turn”.. One thing about a GPS it will tell you there is a road coming up however it doesn’t tell you it it’s paved or not. Making a U turn on the sand/gravel road was not in the plans however was executed smoothly by everybody. 5 Guys Burgers & Fries if you haven’t been to one serves one of the best hamburgers money can buy. When you go there, go hungry you’ll get you money’s worth and some.
If you haven’t been on A1A lately, they’ve been doing road repairs out there, the stretch around Big and Little Talbot has been resurfaced. There are a few places they are still working on.

Road Captain's Comments: 7 brave souls bundled up and headed out through some of Jacksonville and South Georgia's back roads. Nice country roads with light traffic, but boy was it cold. Except for Steve and Susan who had electric hand grips and whose fingers were toasty warm. How many electric hand grips will the dealership sell this coming week? Good food at Murrays. And the waitress was a biker so she really took care of us.
